A few days ago, Dr. Alberto Herreros de Tejada participated as a tutor alongside Dr. Joaquín De la Peña and Dr. Alfredo Mata in an intensive course on endoscopic submucosal dissection using hydrodissection at the Valdecilla Virtual Hospital of Santander.
The event, sponsored by SIMMEDICA and PENTAX Medical, was held as part of the pre-congress courses of the Spanish Society of Digestive Pathology, which took place from 13 to 15 June in Santander. The pupils had the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and improve their technique in this procedure.

As we have already discussed in previous posts, the Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) it is a Advanced lesion removal procedure of the oesophagus, stomach, colon and rectum. Hydrodissection is based on a special device that uses high-pressure fluid to inject the layers of the intestinal wall, which can significantly decrease the operation time.
