May, Digestive Health Month

During the month of May, we celebrate the Digestive Health Month, an initiative driven by the United European Gastroenterology (UEG) with the aim of raising awareness among the population about the importance of looking after our digestive health throughout our lives.

From our Digestive médecine clinic in Madrid, once again we join this campaign, convinced that prevention and education in digestive health are essential for improving people's quality of life.

Obesity and its relationship with digestive diseases

This year, the campaign focuses on an issue of growing concern: Obesity and its impact on digestive health. This is a more than evident relationship, as it influences both benign illnesses and serious pathologies, including cancer.

In many digestive disorders, obesity acts as one of the main risk factors. Therefore, it is essential to adopt a comprehensive approach: seeing a specialist to apply timely preventive measures, carry out a Early diagnosis and establish the appropriate treatment. In this context, the role of digestive doctors is key to halting the rise in cases.

Committed to improving digestive health

Collaboration between scientific societies, such as the one maintained by the Spanish Society of Gastroenterology (AEG) with the UEG, allows for progress in public policies, the sharing of knowledge among healthcare professionals and, above all, strengthen the role of gastroenterology in improving digestive health.

In Gastea, we have a Team of digestive specialists in Madrid Committed to the comprehensive health of our patients. We believe in a personalised approach, based on close care adapted to each person's needs, where we work holistically, taking into account all the factors that can influence digestive health.
